The first step in solving any problem is making sure it actually is a problem—then taking the time to define it properly. Without that clarity, you risk chasing the wrong solutions.
The second step? Recognizing whether the problem is truly yours to solve. If it isn’t, the best thing you can do is offer empathy and support while maintaining enough psychological distance to stay focused on what actually matters. Not every fire needs you to jump in.
